"Every Community Strategy" Framework
Break through the noise by engaging our networks because “if you campaign in the woods it doesn’t make a sound.”
“EVERY COMMUNITY STRATEGY” FRAMEWORK
Democracy-Driven Values
Committing to Team Kaine’s mantra of “Respect. Communication. Collaboration.” and a culture inspired by Biden-Harris and Obama-Biden to organize with Inclusion, Empathy and Humility.
I wrote about achieving Unity without Uniformity in the Washington Post and President Obama spoke about the importance of culture and a more positive approach to politics in his 2023 interview with Pod Save America.
Democracy-Driven Coalitions and Community Engagement
Building on DNC relational organizing programs that use digital tools like the Reach app on the local and state level.
Building community ambassador teams and events to share strategies and tactics on how to build trust through communication and collaboration.
Building community engagement training programs that mentor and respect “Super Supporters” who comprise our most passionate activists - including the “able” community.
Democracy-Driven Conversations
Engaging with members and key stakeholders via regular meetings, events, trainings, online forums and newsletters
Reaching “less engaged” voters with data-driven outreach by well-trained trusted messengers who can move people up the Ladder of Engagement.
Utilizing the messaging expertise of experts like Dr. Karen Tamerius of Smart Politics and Dr. Darryl Davis featured in the documentary “Accidental Courtesy.”
HOW TO DEFEND FREEDOM & DEMOCRACY
As Democratic Strategist Simon Rosenberg has often said, we need to win big to end MAGA once and for all. Nancy Pelosi has stated that Democrats need a “strong Republican Party” because the current dysfunction of the U.S. House is unsustainable to progress in America.
Simon has suggested we need to build an army of “information warriors” because Democrats need to get louder and that is what a strategy focused on community engagement is all about.
And that means much more than responding to disinformation.
It means spreading information!
My new motto is “If you campaign in the woods it doesn’t make a sound.”
We need to break communication silos and embrace opportunities on social media as the first Women’s March started out as a Facebook Event and look what it spawned for the Anti-MAGA Resistance!
We should also be confident in our cause but not sugar coat the risks because respected pollsters are showing that less engaged voters are leaning Trump and President Obama’s former White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer says we should take it seriously.
And keep in mind Trump has over-performed his polls in the past so we don’t know which way the numbers will blow on Election Day.
So we should hustle for every vote and take very seriously what’s at stake from losing our freedoms to losing our democracy to losing our lives.
